Hydrogen Hub

Please Note. This project is in the early planning stages. It is not being promised. It is a good opportunity that is being actively negotiated.

Approximately 98% of current hydrogen production is from the reformation of methane or the gasification of coal or similar materials of fossil-fuel origin (eg petcoke or ashphaltene). Only about 1% of hydrogen production from fossil fuels includes carbon capture and storage (CCS).

The International Energy Agency (IEA) estimates that less than 0.4% of hydrogen is produced by the electrolysis of water powered by renewable electricity.

Approximately 98% of global hydrogen production is emissions intense, emitting around 830Mtpa of CO2 (IEA 2019; Global CCS Institute 2020).

The green/blue hydrogen market was valued at US$ 2.14 billion in 2021. A CAGR of 51.6% is expected between 2022 and 2031. Green/blue hydrogen market revenues are expected to reach US$ 135.73 billion in 2031.

Our Hydrogen Hub - Coal to Hydrogen

There are two parts to the Hydrogen Hub, which are gasification of our coal to hydrogen (Hydrogen Principia LLC), then the transportation and storage of the produced hydrogen .

Turning our Coal to Hydrogen

It all starts with Estevan Lignite. Lignite is a mineral rich biomass formed over millions of years by the partial decomposition of plant material subject to increased pressure and temperature in an airless atmosphere.

Biogenous Hydrogen from Estevan Lignitic Biomass will:

  1. Be an advanced energy hub for biogenous hydrogen production.
  2. 100% organic mineral rich lignitic biomass feedstock.
  3. Net zero carbon emissions.
  4. Power by renewable energy and advanced turbine power generation.
  5. Highly profitable effluent liquid hydrogen and maximization of federal investment tax credits.

This project will create over 200 direct and indirect high paying jobs with a total investment into the Estevan area of $2.4 Billion USD. Once built the plant will produce and export $775 Million USD worth of Biogenous liquid hydrogen.

Transportation and Storage

This project will uses a premier provider of hydrogen infrastructure solutions.

Our partner was formed to commercialize US government patents and intellectual property licenses that our scientists and engineers generated over the past three decades for the US DoD, DoE, and NASA.

Their mission is to apply our expertise to mass produce hydrogen technology solutions to accelerate the development of the Hydrogen infrastructure.

They are leveraging expertise and technology work product developed over several decades and backed by significant federal and private funding.
